Mentor Medic is dedicated to promoting knowledge regarding medical technologies used in Israel. We encourage exchange of knowledge, information and skills between our collaborating physicians abroad and their Israeli colleagues.
Our long standing relationship with the Israeli Ministry of Health and with the directors of the leading hospitals in Israel enables us to offer physicians who collaborate with "Mentor Medic" abroad the possibility of being invited as "guest physicians" by departments of Israeli hospitals.
During their stay, the visiting physicians accompany their Israeli colleagues as they carry daily work schedules and patient treatment. Visiting physicians can participate at case discussions, as well as clinical and teaching conferences. As “guest physicians”, they are granted a “limited medical license” by the Israeli Ministry of Health, and can therefore participate in patient care. They are offered with a unique opportunity to directly discuss the latest treatment technologies, even beyond the focus of their own field of specialty. The experience gathered about the Israeli protocols and medical systems, even after a short stay, can be invaluable, allowing for implementation of new advanced diagnosis and treatment methods back home.
As you already know, quite probably, the issue of language is not a problem as all Israeli physicians are English speaking, and more than 30% of the physicians in Israeli hospitals are speaking Russian fluently.
According to the instructions of the Israeli Ministry of health, these periods range from a minimum of 2 weeks (exceptions for shorter visits are possible) to a maximum stay of 3 months.
We do not cover travel and accommodation expenses during these periods, but we will facilitate all other aspects involved:
getting an authorization from the chosen hospital
coordinating with the Head of the specific department selected, type
and scope of the visit
obtaining the required authorization from the Israeli Ministry of Health
and the professional insurance coverage A delay of 8 weeks is necessary to organize all the necessary authorizations.
We will need to receive from you a notarized copy of:
your medical license
your medical diploma
for physicians from western countries: a letter of good standing
from the relevant health authority in your country/state
for physicians from the CIS and former Soviet Union countries: in
specific cases a copy of your “Employment booklet” may be asked by
the Ministry of Health
your passport (the page with the personal identification details) and 3
Identity photos
A processing fee of 500 USD is required for every physician.
However, the processing fee for Mentor Medic corresponding physicians is only 120 USD. |
